Dial-by-name directory Details

Incoming callers will hear a default computer-generated voice that states, “If you know the party…” or “Press 9 for the company directory.”

When the caller presses that extension number, the directory automatically asks the caller to enter the first of the person’s or department name. The directory will then read the name of the person or department and the extension number and connect the call to the extension.

Creating and managing your dial-by-name directory
When you create your extensions through the easy-to-use RingCentral tools, the setup will ask for the name of the department or employee who will receive that extension’s calls. A caller will hear that name read to them via the auto-attendant’s computer-generated voice. To add any extension to the directory, you click one button, and the extension is added. You can add or remove extensions to the directory with one click. You can change the names of the extension with equal ease and speed.
